On August 16th, our St. Andrew’s Refugee Volunteer Team met with a representative from Lutheran Family Services (the Omaha-area refugee resettlement organization) for an update, and the team accepted the urgent need to adopt a family!

Our family is arriving THIS COMING THURSDAY, August 24!

LFS has an urgent need to help families that are resettling here, and we answered their plea. We will be sponsoring an Afghan family of 12: Daughters 1, 5, 7, 11, 18, and 21; Sons 4, 8, 13 and14, and their parents.

Since they are arriving next week, we have a short time to furnish the 5-bedroom house that LFS has arranged for them.
Our immediate needs are:

• 11 Bedframes
• Sofa
• Dressers
• Sheets
• Cooking pans
• Towels
• Toys

Donations of money are welcome. We will need to purchase:

• 12 mattresses
• Groceries
• Cleaning supplies (can be donated)
• Toiletries
• And more…

This is an exciting time. The Holy Spirit working on this project! We have a lot of work to do in a short time, but I know we can do it with God’s help.
